Bits of advice from my journal #2

- Freedom and control over your time is the one true status of symbol. Success is meaningless if it does not provide that freedom and control.
- Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. No moment is too small or insignificant to provide a new depth of understanding. Small things become big things.
- Never let a day pass without doing something that will benefit you in a decade. Always do one thing everyday that compounds. I love this message, it was my theme message for 2023. I do this thing where I have key messages which I use to drive my goals for the year. In 2023, it was 'Casting votes for the type of person I wish to become' and this advice does a good job of describing it. For 2024, it is 'choosing the hard right over the easy wrong'. In my following blogs I will deep dive into this concept of yearly resolutions and how I go about setting mine.
- 'We do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience'. - John Dewey
- My definition of life well lived is a life of fulfillment, happiness and joy while feeling a deep sense of meaning and purpose.
- Treat your body like a house you have to live in for another 70 years. Always prioritize your health. Health is one of my core values, I am very keen on what I consume. I want to live long to see my kids and grandkids prosper.
- Time doesn't heal anything when it comes to relationships - Don't delay difficult conversations
- Do the work, be consistent, be patient and the results will show. 'I am a slow walker, but I never work back' - Abraham Lincoln.
- Never offer something you would hate someone for accepting
- The purpose of live is to experience things for which you will experience nostlagia.
